The Nana Visits!
It's always a treat to have The Nana (Nic's mom)come visit from Ohio. The girls were definitely as hyper and crazy as ever. We got to spend the weekend up in Kamas at Ryan's cabin. Ashley & Ryan had Moose with them and the girls, especially Kendyl, were pumped about it. Kendyl would bark and try to pet him or grab his toys every time he was around. There was also PLENTY of singing (Camryn), and dancing (Brooklyn). We were SERIOUSLY entertained!

Frenectomy
Yesterday was Baby Kendyl's surgery! She was tongue tied (when the string that holds your tongue down is attached clear up to the tip). She was pumped before the surgery, but felt pretty awful afterward. It was actually a really quick surgery, but she was hurting and crying for a couple hours afterwards...It was sad. PLUS, it didn't help that after I FINALLY got her to sleep for her nap, the nearby refinery exploded and shook the whole house! It scared the you-know-what out of me and I RAN upstairs to rescue Kendyl. I was sure the roof had collapsed. After getting the 3 girls outside, we saw other neighbors looking over at the smoke and flames coming from the refinery. It was freaky and made big news. Thankfully, Kendyl went back down ok :) Dang refinery. I've also included a before picture of Kendyl sticking out her tongue. You can see how the tip makes a 'V' shape...that's a dead give away for a tongue-tied kiddo.

Kendyl's Tubby Game
My baby is getting surgery on her tongue tomorrow. The poor doll is sick as a dog, coughing and runny nose...but the doctor still wants to do it! I'll post pictures of her in her hospital gown tomorrow! I took this video last night...LOVE IT! Camryn is ALWAYS by her side (often times torturing), but she loves her to death. She always tells me, "Kendyl is my best friend in the whole world.". Funny she would say that when she spends 99% of her time playing ponies and princesses with Brooklyn.

The CUTEST Halloween Pictures!

Our next door neighbors take pictures of the kids every year for Halloween. They built a set outside in front of their garage. Don't they look great! Props to the Mowers! Their website is http://kdphotodesign.com/ . One of my biggest battles is getting all 3 kids smiling at the same time. It's 99% impossible. It doesn't help that the twins get shy when they're put on the spot in front of people they aren't totally comfortable with. I'm out there shaking my booty, jumping around like a frog, making farting noises and making a complete idiot out of myself and I get NOTHIN! Well, I guess I got something...but it wasn't easy! (This is Steff by the way- sorry I posted under Nic's account.)Friday, October 30, 2009
TEETH!
A little Catch-Up
OK- I've recently decided that instead of making a yearly Shutterfly book, updating my journal once a month AND posting in my blog each week- I'm going to try and use my blog for all 3. This wasy I can print off my blog each year and make it count for everything. SOOO, if there's a bit more rambling and a few more random pictures you don't care to see- SORRY, I'm doing it for my posterity :). WITH THAT SAID- Here are some of the pictures I failed to post this month!

Remember Morris?!!! I saw him jumping on our tramp last week. Awesome.

It's always CRAZY TOWN when Daddy gets home. I love it.

Decorating for Halloween is like Heaven for 3 year olds. I can't wait till Christmas!

Here's Daddy carving his yearly pumpkin. I'm thoroughly impressed with this year's creation- An evil snowman. It looks awesome! He even has stick arms. Sorry, you can't see them in this picture. The girls were so excited to help me clean out the pumpkin. They were even more thrilled to eat the pumpkin seeds the next day. I have to say- they were TASTY! Here's the recipe:
SPICED PUMPKIN SEEDS (I quadrupled the seasoning and baked them for almost 2 hours)
1 1/2 tablespoons margarine, melted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
3 cups raw whole pumpkin seeds
Preheat oven to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C).
Combine the margarine, salt, garlic salt, Worcestershire sauce and pumpkin seeds. Mix thoroughly and place in shallow baking dish.
Bake for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Camryn and Brooklyn are quite the photography team. Last week, Camryn decided to take pictures of some of her favorite things. Brooklyn staged the scene and Camryn snapped the shot. Nic and I didn't even know what they were doing until we saw the pictures later. This one was my favorite. They actually placed the barbies on the table and got them in perfect picture poses.

Bums getting shots
No...the shots weren't literally injected into the bum. However, don't these 3 cuties look like little homeless kids sitting out in the cold? That was the scene this morning waiting for H1N1 shots. After my failed attempt last Saturday, Nic drove to Layton this morning and was in line by 5am to hold spots for us (outside in the freezing snow storm I must remind you). Britten relieved him a couple hours later and Tammy and I arrived with the kids just in time to get shots at 9am. WOO HOO! I was actually on the fence about all this Swine Flu shot stuff, but after hearing that half the world has it!!!!, I decided it was worth it. The older girls got the mist and Kendyl got a shot. It was all worth it when they got suckers. If my girls end up with swine flu after all this...
